 H.S. Boys Basketball

Zanesville 46 Claymont 43

If you can figure out this Zanesville team after four games, you should apply for a job at the Army Corps of Engineers. One thing you don't need an advanced degree to figure out: they are winning. Playing in their third consecutive road game at...

One of the most prolific scorers in area girls basketball, Brittany Swingle, signed to play college basketball at Tiffin University today. Swingle clipped the 1,000 point mark during her senior season at Crooksville and looks to be a great addition to the Dragons squad. Swingle plans to study Sports Management at Tiffin. Alongside Swingle, fellow Ceramic and teammate Courtney Browning inked to begin her college volleyball career at West Virginia Wesleyan College. It wasn't easier for the Zanesville Blue Devils the second time around against East Liverpool, but it was still a victory. ZHS grabs their sixth win in a row, defeating the Potters for the second time this season, 69-58. Zanesville started out sluggish and didn't have the intensity that has defined their play in recent weeks, but still managed to defeat the Potters for the second time this season, this time while they were at full strength, with the return of PG Marky Tompkins. Tanner Gibson...

In Newark the Green Wave scored a huge win over the top team in the Mid State League Ohio Division, as they handed Heath their second straight loss. Nine months ago Maysville played perhaps their best game of the season against Zanesville in the Sectional Tournament and came up short. They have been thinking about that every day in practice and every time they hold a basketball. This season though the Panthers have to find a way to replace some leadership and scoring, but they seem ready to once again take the MVL by storm.
