Troopers from the Zanesville Post responded to the scene of an accident around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon when a Ford Explorer carrying two people was driving westbound on I-70 near mile post 166. The SUV rolled over multiple times and ejected the two people in the vehicle.

The State Highway Patrol investigates the case of an injury crash on Interstate 70.

Troopers from the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol said it took place on the Licking/Fairfield County line just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers said 26-year-old Tasha Speakman of Columbus was driving a 1997 Oldsmobile eastbound when she drove off the right side of the road, lost control and crashed into the tree line.

The snow is creating a lot of problems on the roads.  Authorities have responded to many accidents throughout the day.

Interstate 70 was at a standstill earlier tonight, and traffic is still backed up.  The State Highway Patrol said multiple crashes were reported from Zanesville all the way to Columbus.

The patrol said none of those accidents were life threatening, but the westbound lanes were jammed.  The patrol is asking travelers to be patient as troopers clear...

A woman is dead following an accident that shut down both eastbound lanes of Interstate 70.

The State Highway Patrol and National Trail Fire Department responded to the crash just after 7 p.m. at mile marker 145 past the Gratiot exit.  Sergeant Chuck Merryman said a Honda Civic traveling westbound crossed the median and struck a tractor trailer head-on traveling in the opposite direction.

Wet weather plays a role in two accidents on Interstate 70 east Friday morning.

Sergeant Clark Felix said that around 9:30 a.m. a silver Honda hydroplaned on the wet roadway near the Adamsville exit and struck a guardrail.

A Chevy behind the car attempted to avoid the accident and slid on the road and spun into the median and ended up facing west.

Three separate accidents are responsible for a traffic jam on Interstate 70.

The most serious crash happened just east of the airport exit around 3:30 p.m.  Trooper Todd Henry of the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said a Chevy Silverado was traveling westbound.

"A witness stated that the pick-up truck was in the righthand lane, and it traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and then obviously overturned," said Henry.

Motorists should be aware of intermittent lane and ramp closures taking place on Interstate 70 in downtown Zanesville, Tuesday.

The closures are due to the bridge inspection to the Muskingum River Bridge. The following areas will be affected:

6th Street to I-70 on ramp

I-70 West off ramp to Maple Avenue

Maple Avenue to I-70 East on ramp

Traffic on Interstate 70 westbound in Washington Township was brought to a standstill Wednesday after a semi carrying candy caught fire.

A man from West Virginia faces felony drug charges in Ohio after getting caught with $36,000 worth of cocaine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 34-year-old Earl Rivers of Wheeling, West Virginia was charged with possession of cocaine.

Troopers stopped Rivers around 1:30pm Thursday on Interstate 70 in Licking County for following too closely.

Troopers observed what they call criminal indicators and called in a patrol drug sniffing dog that led them to the cocaine....

Motorists may experience slow downs when traveling on Interstate 70 Thursday.

Beginning at 7am there will be temporary one lane closures both east and west on the interstate near the State Route 83 exit in Muskingum County.

All work should be complete by 4pm Thursday. During this time needed asphalt repair work will take place.
