The cause of a New Lexington fire that killed three individuals early Sunday morning is still not known.

The State Fire Marshall's Office is continuing its collaborative investigation with the New Lexington Police Department.

The Zanesville Police Department says an incident involving a two-year-old child remains under investigation.

It happened near 657 Cliffwood Avenue around 7:45 p.m.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says it appears the child jumped out of the blue car, which was moving at the time. He says it's unsure if the child actually came in contact with the car.

The two-year-old was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with undisclosed injuries and then transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital...

The Ohio State Fire Marshall's Office is in the first stages of its investigation of a Saturday morning house fire in Thornville.

Neighbors say the structure, located at 13557 Pine Road, was fully engulfed when crews arrived on the scene. It's considered a total loss and heat from the fire damaged a surrounding home.

Ohio firefighters and fire investigators got some hands on experience inspecting and learning about arsons.

It's not every day firefighters and fire investigators get to stand around and watch a fire. But Thursday, it was all in the name of learning.

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating an incident involving a substitute teacher at North Elementary School earlier this week.

Superintendent Dennis Dettra says he can't go into detail about what the woman was doing Monday but can say she exhibited inappropriate behavior. A parent of a student told WHIZ News that she showed her tan line to the students.

The Newark Police Department is investigating a dead body that was found at the scene of an early morning fire.

It happened at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Mount Vernon Road.

The call came in around 10:45 p.m.

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating the death of a city resident.

The Daily Jeffersonian says authorities arrived at 2425 Broad Street around 7 a.m. yesterday and found 52-year-old Kevin Beardmore dead.
