Day two of Stars and Stripes on the River is taking place all day Thursday at Zane Landing Park.

At the downtown park, there is food, carnival games and local entertainment to amuse the crowds.

The Jaycee's sponsored C-Day is a way to collect clothing, toys, canned good and other gently used items for the Salvation Army.

 Taking part is as easy as picking up a phone. Residents with items can call into the WHIZ studios, give their address and the Jaycees will come to your home to collect items.

The 4th of July is just around the corner and it's time to make your holiday plans.

The annual Stars and Stripes on the River event will be held at Zane Landing Park. Festivities will kick off at 3:00PM on Sunday. There is also an evening concert and carnival rides. Plenty of non profit organizations and food vendors will take part.

The cool and damp weather wasn't enough to stop some avid golfers tee off for a great cause Thursday afternoon

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross held their 22nd Annual Golf Outing at the Jaycees Golf Course in Zanesville. The outing helps raise money for the Red Cross Disaster  Relief Fund which helps victims of major disasters like tornados, flooding and house fires. Collection day brings convenience for those wanting to donate.
 

Today's annual C-Day brought together the Zanesville Jaycees and Z-92.  During this event, people had the chance to donate canned goods, clothing, and even toys to The Salvation Army.  With the help of Z-92's Alan Tangey, contributors had the chance to call in and have their donations picked up by volunteers.

A hot day under the sun set up a warm round of golf for those taking part in the Chamber/Jaycees outing.

30 teams were at the Jaycees Golf Course for the joint fundraiser that supports both organizations. The thousands raised goes back to the community for projects close to the organizations and that makes the area stronger.

If you were looking for a way to spend your beautiful Saturday, you might have wanted to venture to Zane Landing Park Saturday.

The Jaycees Memorial Weekend Fest and Poker Run was held to raise money for a special cause.

If you're looking for a way to spend your Memorial Day weekend, you can head down to Zane Landing Park this Saturday for the Jaycees Memorial Weekend Fest and Poker Run.

Golfers hit the links today to support the Red Cross.

About 120 golfers came out to the Jaycee's Golf Course, helping the organization raise much-needed funds.

"We've been very busy this winter," said Dan Hartman of the Red Cross. "The number of fires has kept on going, so an event like this is really going to help out the checkbook."
