The Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority has agreed to sell land to Halliburton and that would mean 300 jobs for our area. The number of people requesting unemployment benefits has plunged to a nearly three year low. Experts believe companies will increase the pace of hiring this year.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services today released the latest unemployment numbers and rates are up for June. In our area the highest jobless rate belongs to Noble County at 14.4 percent…then it’s Morgan at 14.1, Muskingum at 13.1 and Coshocton County at 12.8 percent.
