Local animals found permanent homes on Saturday at the Animal Shelter Society of Muskingum County's Holiday Open House.

The Animal Shelter Society of Muskingum County is having a Christmas open house this Saturday at 10 a.m. Executive Director Jody Murray says the first 12 adoptions of the day will be half price, and says the open house will be a full day of fun events for the entire family.

During the month of October, a certain type of cat will not be available for adoption at the Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society.

The Animal Shelter Society's largest fundraiser of the year is being deemed a success.

Executive Director, Jody Murray says it was a great evening with a generous community. The fundraiser on Saturday featured more than 100 items in a live auction and more than 200 items in a silent auction.

Every year the Animal Shelter Society helps find homes for animals left in their care.
