As the aftershocks continue in the poverty-stricken country of Haiti, locally one group is organizing a fundraiser to help.

The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a brunch this weekend to benefit those suffering in Haiti.

Local kids hit the hardwood Sunday afternoon at Tri-Valley High School for the annual Knights of Columbus free throw championship.

Close to 20 children, ages 10-14, competed at the local level to gain a spot at the district championship in Granville.

An area school beat their own goal of collecting 1,000 items for a local organization.

The Bishop Fenwick School in Zanesville collected 1,200 cans of food, toiletries and other items to be donated to the Eastside Community Ministry.

Zanesville Fire Department Assistant Chief Kevin Thomas says the cause of a shed fire in the Sunrise Center is arson.

Thomas says the fire was intentionally set because the source of the fire originated from the outside of the shed.

It broke out around 8:30 p.m. behind the Knights of Columbus building.

Zanesville Police Department Lieutenant Tony Courey says a driver on Interstate 70 notified authorities about the blaze.

The sun was shining off the hoods of more than 100 classic cars this Sunday.

The 11th annual Knights of Columbus Council #505 Cruise-In and Rib Roast brought big crowds to eat pulled pork sandwiches and check out the classic cars.
