One local agency is raising awareness about lead paint for National Lead Poisoning Prevention week.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department wants to make sure the public knows the effects of lead-based paint, especially in children. Houses painted before 1978 are more likely to have lead paint, and children under age six are most at risk for lead poisoning.
