Licking County announces a new dog warden for Licking County.
Current Licking County Animal Control Officer manager John Silva takes over the position October 1, 2010. Commissioners said that the hiring of Silva will allow the county to conserve resources and focus on developing international assets.
Silva brings over 32 years in animal control and leadership experience along with more than 19 years as Chief Dog Warden in Cuyahoga County.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office says deputies are looking for a suspect involved in a home invasion.
It happened a little after 7 p.m. in the vicinity of Mount Hope and Laurel Hill Roads. Not many details are being released yet, but the Perry County Sheriff's Office and the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol say they were called to assist in the incident.

The Licking County Health Separtment wants to make sure it prevents the spread of West Nile Virus among mosquitoes.

A Licking County man has died in a tractor accident.
It happened Thursday on Pleasant Valley Road in Eden Township.
According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office, 88-year-old Ralph Hughes was standing at the rear of a tractor while working on a three point hitch.
Authorities say the tractor, which wasn't running, rolled backwards and injured Hughes.
He was taken to Knox Community Hospital where he later died.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 70 in Licking County.
It happened just before 5:00 a.m. Wednesday near the State Route 79 exit.
According to the Granville Post, a 1998 Mazda Millennia and a 2010 Dodge Caravan were travelling east on I-70.
