The Licking County Sheriff's Office says they've made an arrest in the alleged rape involving a Pataskala teen. 

Detectives said they began investigating the alleged rape of a 13-year-old female on May 23, 2014. Detectives met with the victim and gathered evidence and Friday arrested 20-year-old Tony Patete of Newark. 

In an interview with detectives Patete admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with the child while at her residence.

A Kentucky man awaits extradition to Ohio following his arrest on rape charges.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office began investigation the alleged rape of a 12-year-old female in early 2013. During the investigation they say they found that 20-year-old Shawn Walsinger traveled from Georgetown, Kentucky to Newark, Ohio and engaged in sexual conduct with the victim.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office investigated the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.

 Authorities located a missing Licking County woman. 

The Licking County Sheriff's Office said shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday an elderly resident of Refugee Road wandered away from home on foot in an unknown direction. 

A family member was unable to locate her and called authorities.

Officials say some calls are coming in through the non-emergency phone lines to their dispatchers, however some people said they cannot get through and they get a recording that all circuits are busy.

A student at Watkins Memorial High School in Etna Township was arrested Wednesday afternoon after making threats to shoot students the next day.

According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office, a member of the high school faculty called police to report the 15 year old male, who was making threats to retrieve a .22 caliber weapon and shoot students at the school on Thursday.

A man who robbed a bank in Kirkersville Tuesday said he just wanted to go back to jail, a day after he was released.

Authorities in Licking County have one person in custody in connection with a vandalism case at Watkins Memorial High School.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office reports that on Tuesday, four males entered the school and vandalized it.

School officials noticed the damage the next day and also discovered that multiple electronic devices were stolen from the school.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office responded to a pipe bomb situation Thursday morning just before 10 a.m.

Deputies said they were called to 6487 Waktins Road in Pataskala, where a property owner was cleaning a house trailer behind the residence. The trailer had recently been vacated and property was left behind.

While inside he discovered three pipe bombs. A complete search of the property was conducted by bomb sniffing dogs and bomb squad personnel. No other devices were found...
