Gant Municpal Stadium was busy Saturday. For the 46th time, the City of Zanesville hosting a portion of the Babe Ruth State Tourament. Starting today, the tournament will run through July 20th, when it will then send one team to the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Owensboro Kentucky.

Day one of the tournament featured two early blow outs, as Hebron beat the Springfield Youth Cal Ripken team 18-1 in five innings to begin the tournament. Game two featured an even more lopsided score,...

At the start of the season, Rosecrans head coach Todd Rock said there would be at least a few blemishes on the Bishops record after 20 regular season games. It's the same thing coach Rock has been saying for the past 18 years, and each time his prediction rang true. The first time Zanesville and Tri-Valley squared off, the Blue Devils cruised to a 20 point victory. Tuesday night in Dresden was a much different tale. After scoring only 30 points in the entire game January Eighth at Zanesville, the Scotties had 31 with 1:39 remaining in the third quarter, taking a nine point lead into the final frame. Boys H.S. Basketball

It was another reality check for Zanesville's opponent tonight. The Blue Devils smashed Piketon 65-39, handing the Red Streaks their first loss of the season. Zanesville can now boast victories against the former number one team in division one (Massillon-Jackson), along with the second ranked squad in division three (Piketon). Tanner Gibson carried the torch with 28 pts, the only Devil in double digits.

The last time Rosecrans (14-0) earned a number one ranking in 1999, the Bishops immediately fell in a trap-game at Bishop Watterson.
