The Zanesville Police Department goes with a new look for their patrol vehicles.

When the Crown Victoria police cars the department used since 1994 were no longer being made the police department tried out the Dodge Chargers. Now in an attempt to find the car that works the best for them, they've purchased two Ford Police Utility Interceptors and two four door sedans.

The Zanesville Fire and Police Department's want to show you where your tax dollars are going and they're inviting you to their Zanesville Safety Center Open House Friday afternoon.

Keep an eye out for the Zanesville Police Department's new slick looking vehicles.

ZPD has been using the Crown Victorias since 1994. When they were discontinued it left them looking for a new cruiser. That's where the Dodge Charger comes in. City Council approved the purchase of the three chargers in March. Officials believe the Chargers will hold up to the riggers of the job.

Zanesville Police say a car vandal was arrested Sunday night in Zanesville.

Zanesville Police Lieutenant  Bill Shaw says a 21 year old male was arrested in the area of Pine Street for breaking into cars. 
Lt. Shaw says a call came in Police around 1:00 Monday morning saying two people were breaking into cars.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an apartment fire that happened this morning.

Lieutenant Bill Shaw says several reports came in around 3:30 that someone broke into an apartment at 9-32 West Main Street in downtown Zanesville and intentionally tried to set it on fire.

The Zanesville Fire and Police Departments are still investigating.
