Zanesville high school principal, Mark Ulbrich will not be returning to school this fall.

He received a job offer from Pickerington North High School and has accepted the position. He says he's excited and eager to face new challenges as the principal of the suburban Columbus school.

The Zanesville High School Football Team will battle it out in the state semi-finals against Loveland High School.

Principal Mark Ulbrich expects to sell about 12 to 15 hundred tickets for the game. Ticket sales continue Tuesday at the ticket window at the high school on blue avenue.

"Ticket sales will be, Tuesday from 6 to 7 pm, Wednesday from 5 to 6 pm, and Friday from 11 until noon," said Ulbrich.

The Zanesville football team has always been an integral part of the high school, but this year they have taken it to a different level. The Devils capped off just the second undefeated season in school history and routed their first playoff opponent, 38-0.

Another year is underway for Zanesville City Schools.

The hallways at Zanesville High School are once again filled with students as they walked through their first day of classes. Part of the day was dedicated to class meetings where students learned what would be expected of them throughout the year.

Five years ago the school also started mentoring groups where freshmen are teamed up with seniors to help them navigate their way through high school.

Zanesville High School now has something other than their new building to brag about.

A full colored digital wireless sign is now up and running in front of the building. The 8x10 foot sign is meant to showcase academic achievements, sporting events and every day happenings at the building.
