Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz has identified the victim of a homicide which happened around 10:50PM last night at 6677 McCaslin road in Nashport.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz is asking the public to stay safe during the weekend leading up to St. Patrick's Day coming up this Monday.

Volunteers and local law enforcement agencies worked together to get prescription drugs off the streets.

The Muskingum County and Guernsey County Sheriff's Office both retired one of their K-9's this year and on Wednesday, they each added a new German Shepherd to the department.

An old building is getting a new purpose.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz, met with Muskingum County Commissioners to discuss using the old work release building on Old Adamsville road for storage for different local entities.

The State Attorney General says the number of licenses issued for carrying concealed weapons has increased this year.

Attorney General Mike Dewine says the county sheriffs have issued more than 37,000 licenses in the first quarter and 31,000 of them were new. Owner of Steve's Buy Sell and Trade, David O'Connell says he can hardly keep guns on the shelves.
