The Ohio United Way celebrates a major milestone and honors some local volunteers during their celebration.

Each year the Ohio United Way holds a legislative luncheon and this year in celebration of their 100th Anniversary they decided to honor 100 United Way heroes.

Our local United Way nominated three volunteers that made the list including Dean Cole, Cindy Linn and Brian Wagner. Each have served multiple years with the Muskingum, Perry and Morgan organization.

Today The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties made an exciting announcement; Their funding will now be open to any non profit organization!

One organization is preparing to make a big impact in the tri-county region over the next year.

The United Way of Muskingum, Morgan and Perry counties is investing nearly $500,000 into 19 area programs.

The United Way's Investment Committee met Monday afternoon to discuss funding for the 2012 fiscal year.
