Ohio's drug problem was not the only topic of discussion during the roundtable with Mike DeWine Friday.

Law enforcement and concerned citizens brought up issues such as violence in schools. School shootings are no longer a rarity in America and even in our local community, with the recent bomb threats at Maysville High School. DeWine said there is a direct correlation with violent school incidents and mental health problems.

The face of mental health is changing in our area.

The Mental Health and Recovery board serves Muskingum and five surrounding counties. They consist of Six County, Tompkins Child and Adolescent and Muskingum Behavioral Health.

Rod Hollingsworth is the executive director and said in the past clients either had an alcohol or mental health issue, now the lines have blurred.

They're also seeing more youths being treated.

A Zanesville support group is speaking out about mental health.

"A Circle With In" sponsored a rally on the Muskingum County Courthouse steps on Friday.  Human Relations Coordinator Sudi Bess said the goal is to combat the stigma attached to mental illness.

"There is no difference," said Bess.  "I may have bipolar disorder.  I may be skitzofrenic.  I may have a dozen things, but unless I tell you, you're never really going to know...
