It’s a big day for a Morgan County Company.  Governor John Kasich was in McConnelsville for the announcement of an expansion by Miba Sinter. The company is located on State Route 60 North and is a manufacturer of auto parts. Officials from Miba were present to take part in the celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony. Governor Kasich says that the expansion of a company like this one, will bring McConnelsville jobs and the well being of families.

Governor Ted Strickland is taking part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Miba Sinter in McConnelsville. It is a 26.1 million dollar expansion project that will create 60 jobs in Morgan County. Ohio provided more than 3.8 million dollars in state incentives to assist with Miba Sinter’s expansion projection. Miba was founded in 1927 as a repair and production shop for engine components.

A McConnelsville company has to pay a penalty for violating the state's hazardous waste law.

In a settlement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, MIBA Bearings has agreed to pay a fine of more than $31,500.

In a September 2008 inspection the EPA found MIBA had improperly stored four 55-gallon drums of waste without a permit.

They also determined the company failed to properly evaluate the waste, failed to minimize the risk of fire or explosion by properly...
