Local donations for Joplin, Missouri tornado victims will not be picked-up Monday as planned.

A semi- truck from Missouri was originally scheduled to pick-up and deliver hundreds of donated items to the tornado victims, but the semi broke down on its way to Zanesville. Now, volunteers are asking for you to help, by making monetary donations. The donations will go toward sending a U-haul to Missouri, as well as pay for gas expenses. Local volunteers and goods donations are needed to help the victims of the Joplin, Missouri disaster.

A three mile wide tornado struck the city last Sunday, killing more than 130 people, destroying countless buildings, and leaving many people homeless.

Friday volunteers gathered at the Pollock Apartments, located on 5th and Market Street in Zanesville to gather items to send to Missouri. Items are still being accepted, but volunteer Dave Joseph says they need more hands to help...

The age old question, why did the chicken cross the road? Well in this case, to get to Ohio.

On Monday night, John Dooley was inside the Exxon Mobile Gas Station off the West Pike when he was approached by a man who asked him to help remove a live animal from under his van.

"So I walk out, I looked and I didn't see it there for a minute and then he showed me where it was at and there was a live chicken stuck under his car in the frame," said Dooley.
