A local campaign is kicking off to stamp out hunger in Muskingum County.
Members of Operation Feed gathered at the Zanesville Civic League for a lunch meeting and collected cash donations and non-perishable food. Carol Morgan with the Muskingum County Center for Seniors hopes they can give hunger the boot in 2010.
"The hunger problem with Muskingum County is a big problem and as I stated, the economy for one thing in 2009, they said they added another 1,785...

"Ohio Law requires all properties every six years for taxation purposes," said Adams. "We received our order from the Ohio Department of Taxation about one month ago."
The county has about 70,000 properties which will be appraised for 2012.

The Muskingum County Commissioners have approved the 2010 budget and say the county is fairing well when compared to others across the state of Ohio.
The approval took place last Friday.

Bates says commissioners have been keeping a close eye on the budget since 2007, when they noticed the start of...
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our area and the Ohio Department of Transporation says its road ready.
ODOT spokeswoman, Kate Stickle, says the rain predicted to hit before the snow is causing a minor problem.
"But this storm is unique, it is forecasted in that it will be rain before the snow hits so we wont be brining because the snow would wash off the brine," says Stickle.
Muskingum County will not be receiving any tax revenue from the Rockies Express Pipeline in 2010.
But the Muskingum County Commissioners say that has nothing to do with the rupture on November 14th. They also did not budget any tax revenue from the pipeline for 2010.
"We did not anticipate any revenue, any tax revenue from the pipeline or the compressor station til 2011 so it really hasn't affected the tax situation at this point," says Commissioner Brian Hill.
Copper pipes and wires can be a hot item for thieves.
Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz, says 2009 saw a spike in the amount of copper-related thefts.
"We had different kinds of thefts from people breaking into the power stations, we had some houses people broke into and took copper pipe right out of the basement and left water running in people's abandoned houses and such, so there have been some of those issues," tells Sheriff Lutz.
Also, meeting with Muskingum County Commissioners Monday was Prosecutor Mike Haddox.
Commissioner John Bates says the Prosecutor's Office was one of the county agencies that cut back last year, when others did not.
"We asked most departments to freeze the salaries and the wages and not spend anymore than they had to, so they did turn some money back in at the end of the year and we're very glad of that and there was some that went ahead and gave their employees raises,...
