The May Primary may be three months away, but the deadline to file to run for area positions or to put issues on the ballot is approaching. The cut off date is set for February 18th, no later than four p.m. and Muskingum County Board of Elections Executive Director, Chris Hamill, says there are a few things you can definitely expect to see this spring.

The Muskingum County Board of Elections is busy making sure each polling station is prepared to handle voters today.

Voters can come cast their ballots as early as 6:30 this morning. and the polls will close at 7:30 tonight.

Voter turnout in this year's November Election is not expected to top last year's, which was a Presidential Election, but Muskingum County Board of Elections President, Chris Hamill, says her office is still busy and predicting a voter turnout of 40 percent. She also says it expects voting by absentee ballots to come in at 10 percent.
