While recent reports by the FBI say the overall number of violent and property crimes are dropping...it would appear they're on the rise in Muskingum County.

Authorities are now releasing information on what they are calling an East Fultonham Meth Lab .

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said it happened at 6892 Elm Street. He said the home had been an interest to the Sheriff's Department and Zanesville Drug Unit since late spring.

A man is behind bars after Sheriff Lutz said investigators found child pornography in his home Friday.

The Sheriff said 41-year-old Jeffery Lee Doty of Zanesville could face several years in prison, if convicted, after the pornographic material was found in his home at 2120 South River Road. Lutz would not release details of the material but says Doty first became a subject of interest to the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Sheriff Matt Lutz spoke to media outlets Thursday morning to wrap up the release of exotic animals and the death of their owner Terry Thompson.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office said they're questioning suspects involved in a burglary in a Zanesville neighborhood.

A homeowner on Dale Road awoke Tuesday night to find a masked man in his home, and he chased the man out of the home. Sheriff Matt Lutz said there were two incidents on the road that night, one was burglary and another was breaking and entering. The incidents are believed to be connected. No arrests have been made, but the investigation continues.
