A mobile meth lab was discovered during a traffic stop Tuesday night in Zanesville.

According to Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz, a vehicle was pulled over around 9:20 p.m. at the Love's Travel Stop on Sonora Road.

Lt. Mike LeCocq, who made the stop, discovered during his investigation one of the occupants of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant in another county. Lt. LeCocq also found what authorities call a "rolling meth lab".

27-year-old Corey Wood of Zanesville appeared in front of Judge Kelly Cottrill in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

Wood pleaded not guilty to three counts, trafficking in cocaine with a juvenile specification, possession of marijuana and trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances.

His lawyer Kevin Van Horn had argued that he should be released on his own recognizance, but Judge Cottrill ruled that bond would be continued at $25,000.

A man is currently behind bars facing drug charges after authorities said he fled during a drug-buy.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said this past Thursday 30 year-old Jerome Johnson of Zanesville- more commonly known as "J-Roc" - unknowingly sold one ounce of crack cocaine to an undercover officer. When authorities attempted to stop the suspect he fled and a pursuit began.

Among their already stressful jobs, each day 9-1-1 Dispatchers have to take their focus away from real emergencies and field a growing number of accidental 9-1-1 calls.

In just a 5 hour shift, 9-1-1 received 9 hang-up calls earlier this week. These accidental calls aren't uncommon. Director of Operations at the Muskingum County Sheriffs Office Kim Hambel said they've had more than a thousand so far this year and will send a patrol out to the ones that come from a land-line.

A marijuana operation was shut-down Thursday yesterday evening when a chopper spotted the grow.

The body of a Frazeysburg man feared to have drowned in the Muskingum River was pulled from the water Tuesday.

Muskingum County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff LeCocq confirms a body found in the river around 10:00 Tuesday morning is that of 41-year-old Troy Hindel. The body was found by a boater a quarter mile from the Terrace Shores subdivision in about 10ft of water just 8ft from the west shore.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said an investigation is underway after a toddler falls out of a second story window.

It happened around 8pm Tuesday night. A three year-old male fell out of an apartment window at 2926 Vista View Drive. Sheriff Lutz said the child fell nearly 11 feet before landing on concrete. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with only minor injuries.

A Muskingum County toddler is taken to the hospital after falling from a second story window.

It happened at 2926 Vista View Drive in Nashport around 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Witnesses on the scene say the child fell from a window, hitting the concrete below.

The child was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where his injuries are unknown at this time. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

A bomb threat shuts down a South Zanesville store for several hours.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said the South Zanesville Wal-Mart received a phone call claiming a bomb was in the store. The call came in just before 2am on Saturday morning.

An auction held this weekend proved to be a success for the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office.

Items auctioned were seized and recovered during drug investigations the Sheriff's Office conducted over the past year. Deputies recovered everything from gold coins to four wheelers and even a 1967 Firebird convertible.
