Some Muskingum County offenders are getting a second chance to show they can change their ways.

The Muskingum River Advisory Council held a meeting on Monday at the Yacht Club in Zanesville.

Two soldiers who served in the Civil War are being commemorated.

The Muskingum County Civil War Association gathered at the Woodlawn Cemetary in Zanesville on Saturday to dedicate gravestones to the Hazlett brothers who died in the Civil War. Theirs had become worn over the years and needed to be replaced.

The Muskingum County Commisioners held a bid opening on Monday for the 2011 Road Resurfacing Project.

The WIC Program of Muskingum County is being relocated.

Muskingum County residents are invited to throw out any scrap tires free of charge.

The Litter and Recycling Center is collecting scrap tires until June 30th. The county was given $20,000 through a tire amnesty grant last July. They have about $8,500 left to spend of it.

The names of suspects charged in a Muskingum County drug bust have been released.

On Wednesday, authorities discovered a meth lab at 343 Linn Street in Zanesville. Misti Emmert, Josh Nelson, Elizabeth Barnett, Gregory Tompkins, and Tania Welch were arrested during the investigation.

The Muskingum County Commissioners held their monthly investment committee meeting on Monday afternoon.

One of the purposes of the day's meeting was to adopt a new policy for the committee which consists of members Jerry Lavy and Jim Porter.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office updated two domestic dispute cases from last week on Monday.

The first took place on April 25th at 1530 Richvale Road in Muskingum Township. Sheriff Matt Lutz says deputies originally went over to the residence to serve a warrant to 60-year-old John Allen, but upon arrival discovered that he was arguing with his wife.
