The Muskingum Soil and Water Conservation District met with the County Commissioners on Thursday to discuss their annual budget.
The district meets with the commissioners twice a year to give them an update on expenses and newly implemented programs. This year, with grant funding the Muskingum Soil and Water District was able to participate in a new cover crop program, where crops such as rye, wheat and radishes are planted to improve soil and water.

A well known figure in the Zanesville community has announced his retirement.
After nearly 40 years with the Muskingum Soil and Water District, Program Administrator Dick Sorg will be retiring effective July 29th. Sorg says some of the greatest satisfaction with his career over the years has been helping landowners solve their problems.
