A lockdown has been lifted at New Lexington City Schools after an incident in the area earlier Tuesday.

Police said around 9:30a.m., a man filed a report against his grandson for assault and making verbal threats. The incident took place in the 700 block of Center Street in New Lexington.

Police said there were concerns of the suspect having access to firearms. Principal Bobby Dodd said the New Lexington High School, Middle School and Elementary School were placed on lockdown....

The New Lexington Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide.

Police Chief Scott Ervin says it happened at 400 Lincoln Park drive in the New Lexington Village Apartments. He says a 39-year-old New Lexington woman is the victim in this case.

Officials on the scene did confirm that the incident happened in apartment C3.

Neighbor Richard Johnson says he was in bed when all of a sudden he heard sirens. He says while the incident is a little unsettling, he won'...

A death is under investigation in Perry County.

New Lexington Police weren't releasing many details Monday morning, other than to say the death took place at 400 Lincoln Park Drive in New Lexington.

A search of address returns it to the New Lexington Village Park Apartments.

According to the Perry County Auditor's website the complex has forty plus units.

Two people were arrested in Perry County Friday with chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to Sgt. Kevin Starrett with the Perry County Sheriff's Office, the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and the New Lexington Police Department found the items after a search of 1-21 Porcelin Street Apartment B in New Lexington.

Starrett says an adult man and woman were found inside the home with the chemicals, but their names are not being released pending formal...
