Some Perry County students learned a life-saving lesson Friday, as the courtroom entered the classroom.
High school seniors from New Lexington, Crooksville, and Sheridan high schools got the opportunity to sit in front of an actual drunk driving trial. The courtroom was take to New Lexington High School, where students were able to witness a judge, jury, defense and prosecuting attorneys, as well as testimony from several people involved in the case.

An area care facility is being recognized for its work in the community.
New Lexington Mayor Janine Conrad presented a proclamation to Mount Aloysius on Monday at its community appreciation day. The facility provides services and support for adult males with developmental disabilities.

Some area public workers are planning to protest Senate Bill 5.
The protest will take place in downtown New Lexington in front of the court house Thursday from 4:15 to 6 pm. Crooksville Elementary School teacher Christina Fisher, who will be at the event, is inviting teachers, police, firefighters, and anyone in the public that wants to support the middle class.

Authorities in Perry County say four people are in custody following a drug raid at a home in New Lexington.
The Perry County Sheriff's Office along with New Lexington Police and two other agencies executed a search warrant Tuesday at 530 Moxahala Street.
Detectives seized around 10 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of currency and firearms from the location.
Four people were arrested and will be formally charged at a later time....
