An elderly couple is sent to Licking Memorial Hospital after an accident in Newark.
It happened just before nine p.m. last night on Thornwood Road.

A newark man is dead after an early morning crash.
It happened at 2:30 am Sunday moring on I-70 East near State Route 37. The Granville Highway Patrol Post says 32 year old Douglas Rookard was traveling east on I-70 when his vehicle drove off the left side of the road striking the median. The vehicle rolled and partially ejected Rookard. He was prounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash.
Two Newark men are in custody for allegedly counterfeiting US currency that has made an appearance in Licking County.
The Newark Police Department says thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, it was able to obtain a search warrant. That search warrant was executed yesterday around 5 p.m. at 5 1/2 Krieg Street.
Randall Hutchinson and Chris Moss were arrested. Detective Sergeant Steven Baum says Hutchinson did have a firearm and suspect currency in his possession at the time.
