The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal emergency aid has been made available to the state of Ohio to supplement state and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Friday's devastating storms.
The Federal Emergency Declaration allows the federal government to support Ohio with direct assistance such as generators and water in all 88 counties in the State of Ohio.
It is an amendment to the state constitution that is mainly symbolic. The measure is intended to keep government from requiring Ohioans to participate in a health care system.
Supporters hope it will prompt a larger recall of President Obama's health care overhaul.
