The State Highway Patrol said they'll hold an OVI checkpoint in our area Friday.

The checkpoint will take place in Perry County. The exact location of the checkpoint won't be released until Friday morning.

Lieutenant Craig Cvetan said that there were 452 OVI related fatal crashes in which 493 people were killed last year in the State of Ohio. State troopers make on average of 25,000 OVI arrests each year in an attempt to combat these drivers.

According to the the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a white Buick minivan was driving westbound US 22 when the driver drove into the other lane and struck a gray Lincoln car.

"Looking at the crash scene, it's obvious the Buick was way left of center, the Buick even tagged the southern guard rail, he was that far left of center."

There were five passengers in the Lincoln car, a man and woman and three minors. There was one person in the Buick minivan. All of them were taken...

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday in Licking County.

According to OSHP, Christopher M. Barthelmas, 31, of Hebron, Ohio was driving a Dodge pickup truck westbound on Interstate 70 when his truck ran out of gas, Barthelmas and Rodney Matthews, 15, a passenger in the truck,  got out of the vehicle and pushed it to the right lane on the interstate and were struck from behind by a school bus traveling...

Roseville, Crooksville and New Lexington crews responded to a two vehicle crash that happened around 5 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Ridge St. and Route 93 in Crooksville.

The Highway Patrol says an accident Saturday night on Interstate 70 was caused by a frisky feline.

According to State Trooper Jody Sawyers, the driver of a red pick up truck was driving westbound around mile marker 139, when the man's cat jumped into his lap, causing him to lose control and go into a ditch.
Both the driver, and the cat are ok.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, was taken to Good Samaritan hospital in fair condition.

There have been three area residents killed in accidents in our viewing area that may have been caused by improper passing.

Sgt. Jeremy Mendenhall of the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said accidents like these can be avoided with proper passing techniques.
