Ohio University is confirming that one of its students is being treated for bacterial meningitis.

Junior Lindsay Harris was transported from O'Blenesses Memorial Hospital in Athens to a Columbus area hospital Saturday. External Communications Senior Manager, Kelley Finan, says the institution has been in contact with Harris' parents, who say their daughter is doing well. Finan says it's not know right now if the strain affecting Harris is the same one that has sickened eight students...

Ohio University is jumping three spots to hold the number two ranking of Top Party Schools in the US.

The Princeton Review uses rankings that are based on voluntary e-mail surveys of 122,000 students at more than 370 colleges across the country.

Coming in at number five is the University of Mississippi, West Virginia University is number four, Penn State is at three, and the University of Georgia is the winner of the title this year.

OU has continued to be a top five...

Ohio University is appointing a new dean to its Lancaster campus.

James Smith will fill the position, starting August 16th, and become the 7th dean of the campus.

Smith is coming from Bowling Green State University where he was Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Services.

Smith says he's looking forward to working with the administration and staff along with continuing to see growth at the Lancaster campus.

His predecessor, John Furlow, served the Lancaster...

An Ohio University student, who just graduated with a journalism degree this June, is hoping to get a dream job with MTV.

Ryan Lytle is one of 20 candidates who are competing to become MTV's first Twitter Jockey. It's a position that pays a salary of $100,000 a year and hopes to branch out to MTV followers in a new way.

Lytle will take part in a number of Twitter-based challenges, starting July 7th through July 20th. It's a competition that will narrow the chase down to 5...

Seniors from all over the country are getting ready to graduate high school, and with the high cost of college it's making it harder for students to afford it.

Ohio University Zanesville Junior Matthew Dair is working toward a social work degree.

A local university is breaking records.

The enrollment at Ohio University of Zanesville is up 7% to a total of 1,680 students. While more people are going back to school due to the economic downturn, OUZ believes its community outreach helped spark interest in higher education.
