American Electric Power is reporting a large power outage across Muskingum County affecting some of the Zanesville area.

Right now there are 2,619 customers without power due to a squirrel that got into the substation. The areas affected include West Main Street and Schaum Avenue as well as others.

AEP reports that the power should be back on by 11 Wednesday morning.

Storms rolled through the area Wednesday night causing power outages throughout the area.

American Electric Power is reporting more than 505 Muskingum County customers are without power, more than 1400 in Perry County and more than 4,000 in Licking County.

The South Central Power Company says that more than 300 Perry County customers are without power.

American Electric Power is reporting several power outages Thursday morning.

In Guernsey County 689 are without service. There's no word on when power will be restored. We'll keep you up to date of any changes.

The Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative says they hope to have power restored to customers by Wednesday night, but they could run into trouble from the winter weather rolling through the area Tuesday into Wednesday.

As it stands 118 customers in Muskingum and 499 in Guernsey County still are without service from the last round of winter weather.

The heavy snow is also causing quite a few people in our area to be left in the cold.

American Electric Power is reporting the following power outage numbers:

Guernsey: 3000

Coshocton: 195

Fairfield: 151

Morgan: 286


Approximately 1700 members of the Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative are without power. 1,100 in Guernsey County and 660 in Muskingum. Many of those should see power restored Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

Some people in southeastern Ohio are in the dark and cold this Saturday morning due to power outages.  American Electric Power is reporting that 7098 customers in Muskingum County are without service, 2500 in Licking County are in the dark, 948 are without service in Coshocton County, 457 lost power in Guernsey County and 449 are without service in Morgan County. High winds and rain have kept workers for the area's three major power companies busy repairing outages.

Here's an updated outage report from American Electric Power.

Morgan County: 209

Fairfield County: 180

Guernsey Muskingum Electric Cooperative reports only three of their customers are still without power. It should be restored by noon Thursday.

High winds have knocked out power to some residents in our area.

American Electric Power is reporting that  614 customers in Muskingum County are without power, in Guernsey County 547 are without service and in Morgan County 503 lost power. A spokeswoman from AEP says crews are making repairs, but high winds that are still blowing through the area are still knocking out power and hampering repairs.
