An important recall for all you mothers and expectant mothers should know about. More than two million cribs have been recalled due to concern babies can be coming trapped and then strangle or suffocate.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall. The majority of the cribs are drop-side cribs and the commission says the side rail that moves up and down can partially detatch from the crib and create a life-threatening gap.

We've all heard of pregnant women having crazy cravings, like pickles and ice cream, but where do cravings come from? 

"Cravings can occur at anytime during pregnancy and they can be crazy things. Such as eating paper plates or doing braunschweiger all kinds of crazy things," says Dr. Robert Aepli, OB/GYN.

Keeping physically fit while pregnant is important to expectant mothers and their unborn children.

"Pregnant women definitely should be exercising during their pregnancy. It alleviates a lot of the discomforts associated with the pregnancy, it increases their immune system, just overall gives them an improved self-confidence," says Julie Bay, exercise physiologist.

I am expecting my first child December 29th, and while being an expectant mother is a very exciting time, there's also a lot you need to know. Throughout my pregnancy I will be covering topics that will be helpful to pregnant women.

Once you become pregnant the learning curve is short to learn how to keep the baby healthy. So for help I went to local obstetrician Robert Aepli. He's practiced in Zanesville for 30 years, delivered 14,000 babies, and he has 10 kids of his own....

The number of babies being born pre-maturely is increasing. Those participating in the Muskingum County March of Dimes Walk wants to spread this message.

While pregnancies are an exciting experience for most couples, a pre-mature birth can change all that.

As the national rate for cesarean sections goes up for pregnant women, locally those numbers are decreasing.

According to Director of Genesis Women's and Children's Services Melissa Montgomery, Muskingum County's numbers sit slightly lower than the state and national levels.
