One organization is working to open the eyes of young children about the importance of eye health and safety.

On Wednesday, pre-school-aged children as well as their parents and caregivers spent their reading hour at the John McIntire Library participating in activities with Prevent Blindness Ohio.

Wendy Klein said the program uses an interactive kiosk and other visual aides to simulate various eye disabilities and demonstrate proper eye safety.
