The Salvation Army red kettles are often the first sign of the holiday season.
But with times being tough, giving is down this year by around $2,500 dollars.
"The sad thing is the people that were supporting us are now coming to us and it makes a big difference in the giving process," says Capt. Ralph Campbell a minister at the Salvation Army.
