The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is calling their first "Ride for the Red" event a success.
More than 40 bikers from across the area showed up this afternoon to travel for four hours through parts of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties. Randy Ritchason of Nashport says he enjoys riding for one reason.

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is trying something new this weekend.
It's taking the National Chapter's "Ride for the Red" and applying it locally. Bikers will start in Zanesville at one p.m. Saturday and take a four-hour ride through Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties.
"There's nothing more scenic and more beautiful than the highways and by-ways of Southeastern Ohio. Most people that ride love those roads, " says Marlene Henderson of the Red Cross.
