It was another reality check for Zanesville's opponent tonight. The Blue Devils smashed Piketon 65-39, handing the Red Streaks their first loss of the season. Zanesville can now boast victories against the former number one team in division one (Massillon-Jackson), along with the second ranked squad in division three (Piketon). Tanner Gibson carried the torch with 28 pts, the only Devil in double digits.

The last time Rosecrans (14-0) earned a number one ranking in 1999, the Bishops immediately fell in a trap-game at Bishop Watterson. This time around, Rosecrans pulled out the victory over their former C.C.L. opponent one day after being named the top ranked team in Division IV. However, it didn't come easy at the Eagles Nest. Bishop Watterson (3-10), who played unbeaten Bishop Hartley and St. Francis Desales to four and two-point games respectively, led by one with one minute to play. That'...

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol says one person was killed in an accident that ended up in the Licking River. It happened around 4:30 Monday morning. The vehicle rolled over an embankment and ejected Knipe. The car and Knipe ended up in the river. Falls Township Fire and E-M-S crews recovered the victim from...

Entering Tuesday night, the Zanesville Blue Devils were 3-3 on the road, and 3-3 when scoring less than 49 points. At the Cats Lair in Cambridge, the Blue Devils pushed both of those marks to 4-3, beating the host Bobcats 45 to 38. Zanesville had their struggles, particulary in the first half, when Cambridge out-rebounded them 15 to 5, taking a five point lead to halftime. Zanesville responded in the third quarter, holding Cambridge scoreless, and did not look back, despite a late push from...
