Rosecrans has had plenty of success on the gridiron in recent years, with back-to-back trips to the OHSAAplayoffs, and, last season, earning the school its first-ever home playoff game. Now, the bishops have had to adjust a little during this offseason. With graduation and a new head coach, just to name a few. But, there is one thing that the rosecrans faithful hope won't be changing anytime soon. Our own Dan Wolfgang has more.
In his senior year at Rosecrans, Scott Moyer lead the Bishops to their first ever playoff berth while playing quarterback. Now Moyer is back at it again. This time though he is leading the Bishops as their head coach. Moyer is one of the youngest head men in the state of Ohio and will look to guied Rosecrans to the Playoffs for the third consecutive year. Football seaons has kicked off in Southeast Ohio and local teams are gearing up for their season opener which happens in less than a month. Local baseball stand out and Rosecrans grad Jerod Yakubik was selected today in the 34th round by the Los Angeles Angels. The Ohio University senior became the third Bobcat selected in this years draft.
Yakubik recorded 19 doubles this past season for the Bobcats in 243 plate appearences. He was a main stay in the lineup for Ohio, hitting safely in 22 consecutive games which ties for the 10th longest streak in MAC history. With in the conference Yakubik was first in doubles with...
