Two years ago Zanesville lost one of its youngest members.

Grant Hickman was 14 years old when he lost his life. The Zanesville High School Freshman's memory lives on through Run4Grant, a 5K race started by his parents in his honor.

"He was just a great kid with a big heart, he respected everybody. He had tons of friends not only from Zanesville, Tri-Valley, West Muskingum, Rosecrans. It's not just a loss for us it's a loss for the whole community," said his father....

School may be out, but that doesn't mean the learning stops...

The muskingum county library system kicked off its summer reading program saturday. Assistant director blair tom said the event has grown from last year. This year's theme is "dream big. Read"

"it looks like we're close to a hundred already. And our goal for summer reading this year is to have 2,800 children read 80,000 books in six weeks, and 500 teens read and report 3,750 books, so we're dreaming big...

Community members are celebrating the life of a Zanesville teenager by ultimately helping others...

The Run4Grant 5K will be held on Saturday, June 2 to honor the memory of 14-year-old Grant Hickman, who passed away last year.

It will raise funds for the Grant Hickman Foundation. The idea came to the Hickman's family friend Caren McCoy after speaking with Grant's mother, Beth.
