Cindy Courtain, an avid runner, was still in the vicinity of the finish line when the explosions went off. We spoke to her mother who says she talked to her daughter afterwards, and says she is just fine.

"I called her as soon as I saw the news and she had just crossed the finish line and was getting water when she heard the first explosion and that's all she said. Everything just kind of went different at that time," said Mother of Cindy Courtain, Margene Ryan.

About 100 people dressed in green participated in the St. Patty's Day Mud Run on Saturday afternoon.

"This is our second annual St. Patrick's Day Mud Run, and we were real excited, we were hoping to have 100 runners and that's exactly where we ended up this year. Fortunately the weather held off and we're having a great time and they're having a great time on the course," said YMCA Executive Director, Craig Miracle.

Sometimes competition isn't so important.

Runners and bycyclists gathered for the 11th Annual Cambridge Run and Countryride Ride on Main Street.

"It was put together in 2000 as just a 5 and 10 k run by some friends and i, and then in 2004 we gave it to main street cause they have a lot of promotional events to bring people to downtown cambridge, and then in 2006 we added a bike tour to it," said Co-chairman, Tom Davey.
