Christmas is delivered for nearly 1,000 families on Friday afternoon.

The Salvation Army of Muskingum, Morgan and Perry Counties distributed toys, clothing and meals to families in need.

"It's a good feeling for us because we know we're helping the community," said Major Ralph Campbell. '"Sometimes we get to see the child go through with mom and dad and say "Oh, look at that," and "Oh I want that."

The Salvation Army is helping 1,200 children have a happier Christmas.

Clothing and toys will be distributed on Friday, but the organization is asking for more donations.  Captain Diane Campbell said not all families can afford to give their kids the Christmas they deserve.

The Salvation Army of Zanesville is still looking for food and toy donations this holiday season.

Donations are down from last year's holiday drive.  Normally, a box of food would last for about a week, but coordinator, Joyce Krouskoupf said that a week's worth of food may only last some families a couple of days.

The holidays are right around the corner, and The Salvation Army in Muskingum County is asking for your help filling Christmas baskets for those in need.

Major Ralph Campbell says The Salvation Army is providing food baskets for over 1200 families this Christmas season. Food items such as mixed vegetables, macaroni & cheese, and canned pasta are just a few of the items still needed. Campbell says donations from organizations, like the Ohio National Guard, are vital.

The Salvation Army in Muskingum County gave thanks by giving.

Moved by the community's generosity, Major Ralph Campbell said more than 100 turkeys were donated for Wednesday's Thanksgiving dinner and was served by local volunteers.

"I mean they could be sitting at home, watching wife get ready for tomorrow but instead they are here helping less fortunate," said Campbell.

The Salvation Army in Muskingum County would like to thank the community for their donated turkeys, many of which are already roasting in preparation for Wednesday's meal.

If you were listening to our very own Z-92 Saturday morning, you probably hear Christmas Music, it might seem a little early in the season but it was all for a good cause.

The Zanesville Jaycee's partnered with the Salvation Army for their annual C-Day. Residents could call in to the WHIZ Studios, donate gently used items, canned goods or other non perishable items and the Jaycees would come to your door step to pick them up.

A popular holiday event is moving weekends in order to help more people.

The Jaycee's sponsored C-Day is a way to collect clothing, toys, canned good and other gently used items for the Salvation Army. Taking part is as easy as picking up a phone.
