The first long holiday weekend of the summer means fun, food and extra law enforcement officers.

Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz says his office has received a traffic safety grant to allow them to put more deputies on the roads during the holiday. They will be looking for drunk and distracted drivers and seat belt violations through the Click It or Ticket campaign.

The names of suspects charged in a Muskingum County drug bust have been released.

On Wednesday, authorities discovered a meth lab at 343 Linn Street in Zanesville. Misti Emmert, Josh Nelson, Elizabeth Barnett, Gregory Tompkins, and Tania Welch were arrested during the investigation.

The Muskingum County Special Response Team was called into action early Monday morning to handle a domestic dispute incident.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. at 1530 Richvale Road.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office had a busy Wednesday searching for a suspect who possibly drowned in a creek in Junction City.

Three people were taken into custody Monday evening as a part of a drug investigation in Zanesville.

A man is charged in the attempted murder of a local bartender following a late-night robbery Wednesday.

An ongoing drug investigation led to the arrest of two people at 206 Mead Street this past Tuesday.

The Muskingum Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old James Allen Wade is charged with trafficking drugs. 26-year-old Darrin Michael Wade is also charged with trafficking drugs, with a juvenile specification and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
