An Athens County man is indicted on formal charges in court.

26-year-old Matthew Culbertson appeared yesterday and faces one count of murder, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, four counts of felonious assault, one count of reckless homicide, and one count of using a weapon while intoxicated.

He will be arraigned this Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

A Perry County woman is dead after a shooting incident yesterday.

The Athens County Sheriff's office says it responded to Biddyville Road in New Marshfield and found that 22-year-old Jerri Vernon of New Straitsville had a gun shot wound near her stomach.

She was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital where she died about an hour later.

Operations Officer, Lieutenant Bryan Cooper, says 26-year-old Matthew Culbertson was taken into custody on an involuntary manslaughter charge...

A Mount Perry woman charged in connection with a shooting last month appeared in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Perry County Court officials say 38-year-old Sabra Hilliard's case will now go before a Grand Jury sometime later this month.
 

Hilliard is accused of shooting Bill Wilson during an altercation at her home on Cimmaron Road on January 30th.
 

Hilliard is being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office says a woman remains at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, awaiting formal charges to be filed in a shooting incident that took place yesterday afternoon.

A Mount Perry woman is arrested after an afternoon shooting.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at 5888 Cinmarron Road.

Sergeant John Russell says an altercation occurred between Bill Wilson and the woman over money. Russell says the woman then presented a gun and shot Wilson in the right shoulder outside the home. Russell says there was a juvenile inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

A Zanesville man is dead after a shooting on Blue Avenue.

The Zanesville Police Department says they were called to 1117 Blue Avenue just before 11:00 PM last night.

"A female who lives at that residence came home and found that her son had been shot and killed," says Detective Sergeant Ric Rousch with the Zanesville Police Department.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a murder at 1117 Blue Avenue.

Authorities were first called to the scene around 10:45 Friday night.

Scanner traffic indicates police found footprints in the snow leading away from the house.

Judge Robert Hoover sentenced Zachary Harvey to indefinite probation.

Licking County Court Administrator, David Edelblute, says Harvey will be forced to wear an electronic monitoring device for 45 days. He will have a curfew. He will not be allowed to use a cell phone or computer, and he will have to attend a family group session with his mother.
