Zanesville police say they are still investigating a Monday afternoon shooting incident.  It happened just before 2 p.m. at 19 South 6th Street.  Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says when officers arrived they found 45-year-old Timothy Besser with a minor gunshot wound to his left shoulder.  Besser was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.  Roush says the shooter is described a white male in the early 30’s with a thin build, around 6' to 6'3...

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a shooting incident.  It happened Monday afternoon at 19 South 6th Street in apartment 3.  One person – in a wheelchair – was taken from the building and then put on a stretcher and put inside an ambulance.  Zanesville Police have not yet commented on the shooting incident.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident.   Sheriff Matt Lutz is not releasing many details other than it happened on Friday and the victim suffered a wound to the calf area of his leg. The victim, who's name was not released, sought treatment at Genesis Hospital.  Lutz says the incident remains under investigation.

A Cleveland Hospital says another student wounded in an Ohio high school shooting has died, bringing the death toll to three.

Metrohealth System said Tuesday that Demetrius Hewlin died Tuesday morning. He had been in critical condition.

Hewlin was a student at Chardon High School. He was among several shot by a gunman in the school cafeteria Monday morning.

Hewlin's family says in a statement he was a happy young man who loved life...

One man is in the hospital after a Tuesday morning shooting in the area of Thurman Street in Zanesville.

Police said officers were called to 507 Thurman Street at about 10:30AM. A resident of the home, Angela Davis, said the man who was shot and two other people were currently staying with her family. She said when the visitors left that morning she was under the impression they were going to pick up cigarettes and the next thing she knew a shooting took place.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a shooting incident at 507 Thurman Street.  It happened around 10:30 Tuesday morning.  One man was apparenlty shot in the chest while he was walking outside that address.  Police have responded to the scene and are investigating.

Multiple shots were fired Monday evening in a Zanesville neighborhood.

According to Lt. Tony Coury with the Zanesville Police Department, around 7:30 officers received a report of a shooting in the area of Pine and Indiana Streets.

"Right now our investigation looks like there were five or six shots fired, four striking a vehicle that was sitting here on the roadway near Pine," says Coury.

The Associated Press is reporting a 38-year-old woman, who had recently moved from Crooksville. Ohio to Laredo, Texas killed herself, after turning the gun on her two children, following a seven-hour standoff at a government Social Services office.

Police identify the woman as Rachelle Grimmer.

A Zanesville man pleads not guilty to charges in connection with a shooting incident involving a relative.

21-year-old Roberto Brooks entered the plea Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to charges of felonious assault with a firearm specification, carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
