Officers responding to a 911 call of gunfire in the 400 block of N. Fifth Street found a man on the porch of the home with a gunshot wound.
While he was being attended to another man walked out of his home two houses north of the injured subject and told authorities he had shot the man because he was attempting to enter his residence.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a report of a shot fired during a dispute Monday evening.
According to Lt. Tony Coury, officers were called to 254 Gray Street around 7:30 p.m. Coury says there was an argument at the home where the suspect fired a shot into the air and then fled the scene on foot.
He says officers know the identity of the man and are searching for him at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

Authorities are investigating a drive by shooting in Zanesville.
It happened around 9:30 Sunday evening in the area of Lee Street and Liberty near Linden Avenue.
Zanesville Police say 10 shots were fired from a vehicle. Police have no one in custody or any victims as of right now. The Sheriff's Office, ZPD, and the State Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate.
A woman was shot in the head Wednesday night during a dispute in Muskingum County.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. at 3900 Hemmers Lane in Wayne Township. Sheriff Matt Lutz says several family members were at the residence when the victim was shot by her step-brother following an argument.
"Our deputies got here on the scene, there was some people that had the victim out of the residence. At that point the suspect was still in the residence," he says.
Authorities are investigating a shooting in Cambridge that severely injured one man.

Authorities said around 2:30, Nitaleen McCualsky was found shot in her right side, outside the store on North 21st Street, injures don't appear to be life threatening and she remains in stable condition at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Detectives said that 27-year-old Gregory McCualsky, of Newark, the brother-in-law, is a person of interest in the case.
