The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a possible shooting on Greenwood Avenue.

According to Sgt. Chris Phipps, officers were called to the 900-block of Greenwood around 4:30 p.m. Phipps says witnesses reported hearing one gun shot and a then seeing a vehicle flee the scene at a high-rate of speed.

Officers at the scene did not find evidence of a bullet being fired. The incident remains under investigation.

Zanesville police were called to the 1700-block of Ridge Avenue Friday night after a shot was fired.

According to Sgt. Chris Phipps, officers responded to the scene around 9 p.m. and made a gruesome discovery.

"Upon our arrival we found that a dog had been killed, we are still investigating the cause at this time," says Sgt. Phipps.

There are no suspects and no witnesses at this time.

A 14 year old Muskingum County boy who admitted to shooting his brother to death in April receives his sentence.

Thursday, Muskingum County Juvenile Judge Joseph Gormley sentenced Michael Hulsey Junior to 2 1/2 years to be served at an Ohio Department of Youth Services Facility.

Hulsey received a 6 month sentence on charges of reckless homicide, assault and possession of drugs and 2 years on a gun specification. He could possibly remain in the center until he's 21.

Several shots were fired Tuesday night on Luck Avenue in Zanesville.

Authorities were called to the scene in front of 163 Luck around 10 p.m.

"We responded to this area in reference to shots fired with possible victim. Upon our arrival we located some evidence that suggested there was a shooting, but we have as yet to locate any suspects," says Sgt. Chris Phipps, Zanesville Police Department.

Police in Newark respond to a home on West National Drive after receiving a call that gun shots were fired.

At 2:40p.m. the Newark Police Department was called to 109 West National Drive.

Multiple gun shots were fired right next to a Heath apartment complex. It has many residents concerned.

It was early in the morning when Heath Police received the call.

The Heath Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting.

It happened around one a.m. near the Heathwood Village Apartments and Garfield Elementary School.

Crews says they initially responded to a large fight, involving up to 30 people. They indicate that multiple shots were fired on the ground and from a moving car. No one was hurt in the incident.

A Newark man is in critical condition at OSU Medical Center after police say he accidentally shot himself.

Crews were initially called to 1614 Crystal Court, Apartment F, and found 40-year-old Christopher Harvey on the floor of the garage with one gunshot wound to his head. He was taken by Medflight to the hospital for treatment.

Zanesville Police are investigating a drive by shooting that happened over night in the Brighten Boulevard area.

Lt. Shaw says at about 2:30am Thursday someone called in and reported that they were out shopping and when they got home they heard gun shots fired outside their home.

Multiple shots were fired Friday night on Spangler Drive in Zanesville.

Authorities were called to the 600-block of Spangler near Owens Street shortly before 6:30. On the scene they found at least seven shell casings. Vickey Chason's family was having a Memorial Day picnic during the shooting.
