With the sub-zero temperatures and more snow on the way, Riesbeck's Store Director, Rich Daugherty, said it was a hectic day.

The day after Christmas is notorious as a big day for retailers getting a lot of returns and exchanges, but for some local shoppers, it's a day to use up those gift cards they got for Christmas and even start shopping for next year.

"We come every year, the day after Christmas and purchase gifts for next year," said Linda Sterling.

Last minute shoppers rushed around Colony Square Mall on Christmas Eve hoping to find the perfect gifts.

The Counter Manager for Estee Lauder, Nicki Norton says that a lot of men tend to come her counter last minute to purchase all kinds of goods for their wives, mother's and girlfriends. She says she always suggests they pick up a few signature items.

If you are like many Americans and you have waited until the last minute to finish your holiday shopping then you're not alone. Saturday  at the Colony Square Mall,  employees and management say that the mall has been packed in the days before Christmas. This means a boost in sales and revenue in the local economy.

It's not everyday you get to shop with a cop, but on Monday, that's exactly what 40 area students from Muskingum, Morgan and Coshocton counties did.

Every year the Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge gives kids and teens a Christmas they may not otherwise get. They give each student over $100 to spend, team them up with law enforcement officers and send them shopping at Walmart to get whatever they want.

The doors at Colony Square Mall have been open since 8 o'clock on Thanksgiving, but for most shoppers, they saved their spending for Black Friday. For Candace Cormack, it was her first time braving the crowds on Black Friday.

Many shoppers scrambled around trying to find that perfect gift for that special someone, but shopper Tom Ratcliff says he doesn't worry because there is always a simple solution.

The walkways of the Colony Square Mall were much quitter Saturday morning.

The surge of Black Friday shoppers are now gone, but some shoppers still made it to the mall to pick up day after deals.

"Unfortunately I had to work yesterday so I wasn't able to get out and get the specials," said Pamela Lyall. "I just get the buys whenever I can."

For one shopper she not only went out on Black Friday, but went out again Saturday to get another gift.
