It is a snowy start to your Thursday.  A light coating of snow will be part of your morning commute in Zanesville and other parts of the Ohio.  Salt crews have been out and are getting roads ready for travel, but there are still slick spots on secondary roads.  There are also school closings and delays which you can find on this website but clicking on the banner or closing link at the top of the page.

After several inches of snow has fallen in Zanesville and surrounding areas, the weather has caused traffic delays, car accidents and business cancelations but it also provides entertainment for those who like to bundle up in snow gear and play in the winter wonderland.

For the Miller Family, the snow brought an opportunity to build a snowman in the front yard, but this isn't your average snowman. It stands more than 12 feet tall!

Residents of southeast Ohio are digging their way out of the snow once again.

Several inches of the white stuff has fallen in Zanesville and nearby areas.  Snow plows continue to make progress, but drivers should still exercise caution.

With the snow falling in Southeast Ohio, some area basketball teams will be starting their winter breaks a little early. Some games around the area have been pushed back due to the white stuff and no make up dates have been posted.

The Muskingum and Licking  County Sheriff’s Offices have issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency.  That Means Roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.  Drive cautiously.

On Saturday morning, Zanesville residents woke up to fresh snowfall and freezing temperatures. Business owner Gene Davis said it has been worse in the past, but after such a mild winter, conditions like this take a toll on his business.

With the threat of winter weather looming, local residents are stocking up on some necessary supplies.

The Pick-N-Save store on Howard Street was bustling with activity all day Friday.

Whether it's for six more weeks or not, winter is here in Zanesville - for now, and area residents are dealing with it.

After what has been a rather mild winter season, residents woke up to snow covered driveways, sidewalks and cars. Zanesville Resident Herbert Dailey said the weather added a little more time onto his daily commute for safety precautions, and he would have preferred the warmer temperatures to stick around.

Old man winter is making a visit to Zanesville and the rest of Ohio Wednesday morning. Light snow started falling around 6:30 a.m. and roads are slick. Local law enforcement officials are reporting some minor accidents.
