A local fundraiser provided monetary donations to five service organizations in our area.

This year, the 17th Annual Souper Bowl raised enough money to give away five $2,500 checks to Christ's Table, Eastside Community Ministries, The Salvation Army, Fellowship of Christ, and the Muskingum County Center for Seniors.

Five local charities received checks from the proceeds of this year's souper bowl event. The five beneficiaries are: Eastside Community Ministry, Muskingum County Center for Seniors, The Salvation Army, Fellowship of Christ's Community and Christ's Table.

The annual event in October raised almost fifteen hundred dollars for the five charities. Divided by five, each organization received almost three thousand dollars and those funds can go a long way.

People were lining up Sunday afternoon for a hot lunch to benefit local charities.

The 13th annual Souper Bowl Benefit Luncheon hopes to raise thousands for six local non profits.

"It was put together by Dr. David Klein and Bill Factor and they had two goals. The first goal was to bring local churches together to work on a common project and the second was to raise money for local non profit organizations in the community," says Co-Chair Marcy White.
