The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a semi dodges traffic and rolls over after a brake failure causes the driver to lose control.

Lt. Matt Boyd says witnesses report at around 1 p.m. they noticed the semi passing by without slowing down at the Airport Road exit, on further review troopers say the driver had no other choice.

A one vehicle accident involving a semi truck halted traffic on interstate 70 for miles and for several hours Saturday evening.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, around 8 p.m, the driver reported he was traveling eastbound near mile marker 146, when another car cut him off. This locked the trucks brakes and the driver lost control, veering off the roadway and into the median causing the truck to roll on its side.

Traffic was at a stand still following a two vehicle accident on Maysville Pike on Saturday Afternoon.

The State Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 3:30 p.m. a driver of a pick-up truck was given a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign, which lead to the vehicle crashing into a near by Jeep.

One person was sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after an accident on State Route 93.

It happened just before 9:30 a.m. in front of the home at 5950 Adamsville Road. State Highway Patrol Sergeant Chuck Merryman said a motorcycle was traveling north on the roadway, when it struck a vehicle.

The State Highway Patrol said they'll hold an OVI checkpoint Friday in Perry County.

The checkpoint will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday July 26, on West Broadway Street between Madison Street and Clayton Street in the Village of New Lexington.

The Fairfield Post of the State Highway Patrol investigates an accident in Perry County.

Officials said the incident was reported at around 10:20p.m. Monday.

Troopers said 22-year-old Nicholas Blackketter was traveling on Township Road 197 when he drove off the roadway. He was transported to Grant Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

Two law enforcement vehicles suffer damage during two separate incidents involving a stolen vehicle.

Monday morning Zanesville Post Commander Lt. Matt Boyd said a New Concord Police Department SUV was struck by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Joshua Sherrard of Newark, who then fled the scene.

The State Highway Patrol released the names of those involved in a double fatal interstate accident Sunday.

Authorities are still investigating the crash that killed 25-year-old Tamara Carnes of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and 27-year-old Omar Lawson of McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
