A two-car accident sent one man to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

State Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Henry said Roger and Rebecca Smith of Zanesville were traveling eastbound on State Route 146, trying to turn left onto Marshall Hill Drive, when their SUV was rear-ended by a red pick-up truck.

Henry said the truck then swerved off the road and traveled down an embankment.

State Route 146 in Muskingum County was shut down for hours Friday afternoon following a tanker truck rollover.

The crash occurred around 4:30 near Clay Littick Drive. According to Jeff Jadwin with the Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency, the tanker went off the roadway landing in a creek rupturing the fuel tanks and oil panel in the truck.

Jadwin says the load the truck was carrying was not hazardous.

A multi-vehicle crash sends one person to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Highway Patrol Trooper Stephen Williams said one woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a three-vehicle accident on state route 146 past the Dillon Scenic Overlook.

An accident on State Route 146 sends one person to the hospital Monday morning.

Despite the appearance of the Pontiac Sunfire with it's dented passenger side, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the female driver of suffered only minor injuries following the accident.

"We have one vehicle that was trying to turn into the Duke and Duchess and was struck on the right side by a westbound pick up truck," said Trooper Wes Archer from the state highway patrol.

The State Highway Patrol is looking for a man who fled the scene of an accident Friday evening.

It happened just after 8:30 P.M. on State Route 146 near Holbein road.

Trooper Eric Williams said driver Scotty Hansel was headed East on 146, when he passed two vehicles. Upon attempting to return to the eastbound lane, he lost control and drove off the left side of the road, where he struck an embankment and a tree, which caused the vehicle to overturn.

The Ohio Department of Transportation will begin a $265,000 project next week on State Route 146 just west of Northpointe Drive which will cause delays for motorists.

On Tuesday May 31st beginning at 7 a.m.,weather permitting, crews will start bridge work on State Route 146 with a scheduled completion date of July 15th.

A single lane of traffic will be maintained at all times through the use of a concrete barrier wall and temporary traffic signals.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says an area roadway is closed due to flooding.

State Route 146 is closed in Guernsey County from the 4.3 to the 9.9 mile markers west of State Route 821 between Pleasant City and Cumberland.
 

ODOT says State Route 146 will reopen on Thursday at 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.
 

The suggested detour is State Route 821 south to State Route 672 west to State Route 146.
